    The short version: we collect only what we need to run Bargin, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
  

1. Who we are

Bargin ("we", "us", "our") is a price comparison service accessible at findbargin.com. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR (for EU users) and CCPA (for California residents) where applicable. 2. What we collect

We collect the following information when you use Bargin:

Email address — when you create an account (consumer or merchant) or sign in via magic link.
Payment information — when you upgrade to Bargin Pro or sign up as a merchant. We do not store your card details — payments are handled entirely by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
Wishlist data — if you are signed in, the products you save to your wishlist are stored in our database so they sync across your devices. If you are not signed in, your wishlist is stored only in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
Merchant business information — if you sign up as a Local Merchant, we collect your business name, address, WhatsApp number, contact email, product descriptions, and years in business. This information is displayed publicly on the Service.
Search queries — the products you search for, sent to our search providers (Google Shopping via SerpAPI, optionally Amazon) to return real-time prices.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and general interaction data, collected anonymously via Vercel Analytics.
Session cookie — when you sign in, we set a secure, HttpOnly session cookie containing a signed token that identifies your session. This cookie is never accessible to JavaScript and expires after 30 days.

To manage your Bargin Pro subscription and billing
To sync your wishlist across devices when you are signed in
To send you transactional emails (magic-link sign-in, billing receipts)
To display your business information if you are a Local Merchant
To return real-time prices from our search providers
To improve search results and site performance
To prevent abuse of the Service

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

Bargin uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record, handles tax compliance globally (Privacy Policy)
Supabase — database hosting for user accounts, wishlists, and merchant data (Privacy Policy)
Resend — transactional email delivery for magic-link sign-in and receipts (Privacy Policy)
SerpAPI — real-time product search via Google Shopping (Privacy Policy)
Amazon — product data via Amazon Product Advertising API (Privacy Notice)
Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions (Privacy Policy)
Cloudflare — DNS, domain registration, and email routing (forwards email sent to our @findbargin.com addresses) (Privacy Policy)

Retailer "Buy" links on Bargin go directly to the retailer's website — we do not use affiliate tracking or route clicks through a third-party redirect. Once you reach a retailer's site, their own cookies and privacy policy apply; we do not control third-party cookies.

5. Cookies

Bargin uses minimal cookies and browser storage:

Session cookie — a secure, HttpOnly cookie set when you sign in. It contains a signed session token and expires after 30 days. It is not accessible to JavaScript.
localStorage — used to store your wishlist (when not signed in), Pro status cache, install prompt dismissal, and search preferences. This data stays on your device.
Paddle cookies — set during checkout by Paddle's hosted payment page.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your email address and subscription status for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days. Server logs are automatically deleted after 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Deletion — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
Opt-out — unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@findbargin.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Bargin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Bargin after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
